Summary of 2022-2023 Academic Senate Activities

Dear Colleagues,

I hope this note finds you well. I write in the last week of my term as President of the Academic Senate first to thank you for your engagement and partnership this year. It was an honor to have been elected to lead the faculty and an even greater privilege to actually do it. I am indebted to all those who served on the Senate, on our committees, and on the Faculty Councils, and I am especially grateful for the members of the Executive Board. I am looking forward to one more year on the Senate in support of next year’s President, Margo Apostolos.

My other purpose in writing is to pass along a summary of the Senate’s work for the year. In the interest of brevity, it links to many resources and reports on the Senate’s website, and I encourage you to dig in and read them. Our colleagues took on a number of challenging issues this year, and I am very proud of what we accomplished. As ever, work remains, but I am confident that with our collective engagement we will get it done. See you in the Fall.

All best,

Dan Pecchenino
President of the Academic Senate, 2022-2023
