Academic Senate Meeting with Presidential Search Advisory Committee

August 28, 2018

Dear Faculty Colleagues,

As many of you have probably already read in the recent communication from Rick Caruso, Chair of the USC Board of Trustees, the presidential search is underway, and the Presidential Search Advisory Committee will be seeking opinions regarding the direction of USC as well as desired attributes of a new University President.  In addition to the Open Forums (two at University Park Campus and one at the Health Sciences Campus), members of the Presidential Search Committee and representatives of the search firm will be meeting with the Academic Senate, and we would also like to invite any Faculty members who are interested in participating to attend that Academic Senate session.

The session will be held at Town & Gown at UPC on September 13, 2018 from 3:00 – 4:30.  If you would like to attend, please RSVP online at usc.edu/esvp (code: Sept13) or using the direct link: https://events.usc.edu/esvp/esvp_sept13.php by Monday, September 10.   If you are unable to attend any of the sessions / forums and have additional thoughts for the search committee, a presidential search website has been created where you can share your views or nominate a candidate for consideration.  I am extremely optimistic about the process being laid out for determining the new USC President and look forward to hearing the Faculty’s voice about the direction we should be headed.

Thank you,

Yaniv Bar-Cohen

Academic Senate President
